Disney Diary - Day 2

If you're back here after my Disney Diary Day 1 post, welcome back! If you haven't read the previous day click here, then come back!

Our first full day at Disney! We started our first morning by meeting Pluto in our hotel, and having photos taken. We decided to get a Photopass when we booked, which I would definitely recommend, as we got over 60+ photos over our trip! The hotel meets were my favourite ones, as the queues were always much shorter than in the parks, and there was a guarantee of a Photopass photographer there, rather than using our phones.
As we were staying at an on-site hotel, we got the Extra Magic Hours between 8:30 and 10, so we took full advantage of this time to take photos around the park while it was emptier! Even though it was grey skies and cloudy, it didn't take away from the Disney magic.

I loved walking down Main Street, as the buildings are beautiful and there's so many shops, things to look at and also sound effects coming from the tops of some buildings.
We then headed to look around the castle, as I'd read so much about it. The castle is obviously the main feature of the Disneyland Park, but I think being able to look around it makes it even more special. The stain glass windows are stunning, along with the statues, wall hangings and the view from the balcony looking over Fantasyland.
After looking around inside, we went underneath the castle to visit the dragon. It's something that's unique to Paris, and definitely can't be missed. The photos don't do it justice, and when the dragon breathes out smoke he looks so lifelike!
Our first ride of the day was the Mad Hatter's Tea Cups which were so much fun and great for photos, and we then took photos with the Tea Party set up by the ride. One of the things I loved was there being so much to interact with and take photos of without actually going on any rides.
It then started to rain so we decided to head for cover and look round the shops in the Disney Village. My favourite had to be the Lego shop, the characters made out of Lego bricks were so cool, as well as the pictures on the walls.
The Gallery shop was also amazing, filled with statues, ornaments and pictures. The castle statue was beautiful, but I don't think it would've fit in my suitcase home!
We decided to brave the weather, and head to the Studios park for the first time. As soon as we got through the gates, we saw a short queue to meet Goofy. He was hilarious, definitely one of my favourites, he sneezed and blew his nose into my scarf, laughed at my Olaf coat and was just so funny.
After meeting Goofy we walked through the entrance to the actual Studio Park, which was so cool, with loads of buildings and Hollywood lights! The first thing you see when entering is the statue of Walt and Mickey which I absolutely loved.
The first ride of the Studios had to be Terror Of Terror right? This is honestly one of my favourites as it's different every time. I think you can tell by our faces that it was a bit scary! Afterwards, we headed to Toy Story land and rode RC Racer, which was scarier than it looked!
We then headed back to the Disneyland Park to find a spot for the parade. The 25th Anniversary Stars on Parade was amazing, I didn't take many photos because I was too mesmerised by the floats!
Being in the Golden Forest Room, we were given a Hotel Fastpass to use each day on any of the fastpass rides, so we used ours for Big Thunder Mountain which was another favourite of ours. Of course, Disney isn't Disney without It's A Small World so that was next on our list (once was definitely enough for that trip, 2 months later and the songs still in my head).

We then headed back to the castle for the Christmas shop as that was shut during the morning. IT'S AMAZING. Like Christmas 24/7, 365 days a year. And for someone as obsessed with Christmas as I am, is there a better combination than Disney and Christmas?
All the queues were long, and we had some time to kill, so we decided to just walk around and explore the different lands a bit. Discoveryland was a land we hadn't really looked round as much so we explored a little.
By checking the queue times we saw that Pirates of the Caribbean only had a 5 minute wait, so we headed over to Adventureland. The ride was a little boat that goes around looking at models and scenes of pirates, Captain Jack was so lifelike - I'm sure he was real!
The Disneyland park started to get busy with people arriving for the fireworks, so we park hopped to the Studios and queued for Aerosmiths Rock n Roller Coaster, which was much faster than I expected! We sat in the back row and you can tell by my face that it wasn't my favourite!
To finish off our fist full day we had dinner at Planet Hollywood in the Disney Village. As the fireworks were near to starting we managed to get a table straight away, good timing  as when we were leaving the queue was out the door! Greg had ribs, I had vegetable fajitas which was all very tasty.

We got back to our hotel around 9:30 ish and we were knackered and fell straight to sleep ready for day 3!
Thank you for reading,
Becci x
