Summer Skin Saviours

I'm very fussy when it comes to skin care, normally because half the time I'm too lazy for products that take ages to sink in, or products that you have to faff around with. Especially in the summer, skin care feels less luxurious than it does in the winter and is something that is still so important. I tend to use less and lighter products in the summer compared the the winter and these are my go-to products this summer.

I never used to bother with SPF (apart from sun cream) but after recently reading in a magazine about putting SPF into your skincare routine all year round, I panic bought the Solait SPF Face Cream from Superdrug and now I use it everyday. It's the perfect size to keep in your bag for top ups throughout the day and it's not too sticky or greasy for underneath make up.

Next up, the Mario Badescu Facial Spray is my new favourite thing. I use it before applying make-up as a primer, after make-up to set it, or even just to cool down on a no make-up day. With cucumber, aloe vera and green tea, it's cooling, and hydrating and leaves your skin glowing with or without make up.

Another suncare product that I love using is the Nivea SPF Lip Balm, my lips get dry and chapped all year round, but I like switching to this lip balm in the summer for the extra SPF protection. It keeps my lips soft but isn't a greasy lip balm and doesn't slide off straight away. It does have a slight white cast once applied, but once it sinks in properly it blends away.

Sunburn is the worst thing about summer, and I normally go through bottles of After sun each year. The After Sun Gel is much more cooling than a lotion, and keeping it in the fridge makes it so soothing on sunburn.

My skin still gets dry in the summer but body lotions and butters are too thick and sticky for the heat, and the Body Shop Body Yoghurts are perfect. The gel like formula can be applied to damp skin and dries so quickly, meaning you can get dressed straight away. It doesn't feel heavy but is still so hydrating and the Body Shop scents are always amazing.

Another product I've been loving recently is the St Tropez In Shower Tan. I never tan in the sun, only burn not matter how much sun cream I apply. It's so much quicker than fake tans as you don't have to sit and wait for it to develop, and it's so simple to add into your daily routine. I normally jump in the shower, exfoliate my body and after then turning the shower off apply the tan, wait 3 minutes and then wash back off. It takes a couple of uses to build up a colour but it's definitely worth it.

Finally, the Zoella Gelato Shower Shake is such a refreshing shower wash, and is also perfect to use instead of shaving foam. It lathers up and leaves the skin so smooth aswell as having a summery elder flower and pomegranate scent.

Thank you for reading,
