As the weathers getting colder, and the evenings are darker earlier, there's nothing better than curling up with a blanket and a mug of a hot beverage... But tea and coffee, however lovely and cozy, can get boring so I've put together my list of top 3 autumn/winter drinks that are slightly different to your average tea/coffee. Hope you enjoy!
#1 Hot Chocolate
My favourite hot chocolate powder is the Cadbury Freddo Drinking Chocolate, which is surprisingly vegan as well as many other cocoa powders (just double check the labels before use)
Firstly I heat up my chosen plant based milk (usually soya) in the saucepan on the hob. After that's warmed through I turn off the heat and add 3 tablespoons of the powder into the saucepan and whisk until there is no lumps of chocolate. Then I pour into the mug and then add a couple of squeezes of the Sweet Freedom Choc Shot and stir it well. Either enjoy it as it is or if you want the full experience add some vegan squirty cream, mini marshmallows and some extra cocoa powder over the top.

#2 Cinder Toffee Coffee
Now I'm not a coffee lover, I love the smell of it and really want to like it but I just can't stand the taste. This is when I came across Beanies, a brand that sells instant flavoured coffee jars suitable for vegans. I bought a few different flavours but by far my favourite is the Cinder Toffee, it tastes just like honeycomb! I just add a teaspoon to a mug, add boiling water, stir and then add some oat milk (it seems to be the only milk that doesn't really curdle in coffee) It obviously has does taste of coffee but the flavours overpower the strong taste and as a not huge coffee fan, I really like them!
#3 Hot Apple Cider
This non alcoholic version is perfect for those cold nights where you want something a little different. To make it much easier and quicker I start off with 2 litres of 100% apple juice, into a large pan on a medium heat. Then add 1 apple quartered, 1/2 cup of maple syrup, 1 orange cut into slices, 2 cinnamon sticks, 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg and 1/2 teaspoon of all spice. Bring to a simmer and then leave for 20 minutes. Remove the apple quarters, cinnamon sticks and oranges (but can be used for decorating) and serve hot.
Hopefully there's at least one idea here to warm you up on these cold November evenings! If you try these out, or have any flavoured coffee recommendations (especially for Christmas!) let me know!
