Banish Your Breakouts

In the Autumn/Winter months I always find myself taking more notice of my skin and the way I care for it. My skin is so up and down over each month but in the colder months it's dry but still prone to breakouts. I've been creating the perfect skincare routine to help prevent the breakouts with some of my favourite products.

First up is face scrubs. My skin never feels as clean or soft as it does when using a scrub and these two are really good at exfoliating but not too harsh at the same time.  The Charcoal Cleansing Scrub is almost like a face wash with smaller granules but definitely makes the skin clearer and helped my clogged pores. The other scrub I've been loving is the Amie Exfoliating Polish I received in a Vegan Box recently, and you can definitely notice the difference straight away. I use it once a week and focus it around my nose and forehead. I will picking up the full size for sure when I run out!

Face mask wise, the Avon Clearskin Mineral Mask has been my saviour. I apply it with a foundation brush to make sure it's even and then wait 10-15 mins until it's grey and then rinse with warm water. Sometimes I'll use it all over but mostly just on my T-zone. I can see the difference in my blackheads and pores immediately after use-its incredible. Enough said.

If my blackheads or spots around my nose are particularly bad, I love these Tea Tree Nose Strips but when writing this post I found they've been discontinued (*cries*) but I'm looking forward to trying to find another replacement - maybe these from Superdrug or these from Boots.

For the days where my skin is super oily but also dry in places I use the Garnier Moisturiser
as a moisturiser and primer. The only downside is when applying a silconey primer over top it balls up and comes off, but it dries like a primer so usually it works well under makeup.

Next my favourite skincare product, probably of all time. I know the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion has massive hype and rightly so. Overnight it reduces any spots and within a couple of applications completely disappears. I was reluctant to spend £16 on such a small bottle but it lasts so much longer than I expected. Honestly, go buy it.

Lastly, more of a tip than a product. I'm so bad for cleaning my make up brushes and it's soooo boring. But giving them a quick spritz with a brush cleaner and wiping after each use has definitely made me have less frequent breakouts - and makes that deep clean of brushes a lot easier and quicker as they're not ridiculously dirty...
