There's something so relaxing about winding down after a long day, and the gloomy, dark early evenings makes getting into a calming and cozy routine even more appealing. I don't know why but I always love reading people's night-time routines, and finding the perfect combination of things to help calm you down before sleeping. Anyway, let's get started!
The first thing I do when winding down in the evening is making a hot drink. I love either a milky hot chocolate (if I'm feeling like treating myself), but I usually go for a hot cup of tea. I try to drink decaffeinated green tea or chamomile tea before going to bed to help me feel sleepier. My favourite tea at the moment is Lemon Green Tea, it's so soothing and calming.
There's nothing I love more than taking my make - up off at the end of a long day. I'm obsessed with the Lacura Hot Cloth Cleanser (a totally vegan dupe for Liz Earle's cleanser!), all you need is the teeniest blob to rub over your face and eyes, then a muslin cloth run under hot water to wipe off the cleanser and all the make - up goes with it.
I then like to cleanse for a second time using the Body Shop Vitamin E cleanser, wash my face with a blackhead scrub and then the Body Shop toner afterwards.
In the Winter when my skin is really dry, I love using a heavy duty moisturiser at night and feel the benefits of it in the morning. I recently received the Dr Botanicals Tropical Invigorating Cream in a subscription box, and I'm obsessed with it. I only use it when I feel like my skin really needs a boost, and it's quite rich (and expensive!)
After skincare, I love to catch up on Youtube, watch a Christmassy film or read a book- Just anything to make me feel cozy and relaxed before bed. I'll put on some comfy pjs, currently loving these Christmas Eeyore ones from Boohoo, and some cozy socks or slippers.
Just before bed I like to apply the Sleepy lotion by Lush, which if you haven't tried and you have trouble sleeping, you need to go and buy instantly.
I also like to apply some the Zoella Gingerbread Hand Cream (smells incredible!), the Percy and Reed Overnight Recovery Hair Mask, and the Barry M Coconut Lip Oil and and let it all soak in while turning off my phone and snuggling under the covers.
And that's it for my Winter routine, thank you so much for reading,
