Blogmas Day 22 - 8 Christmas Eve Traditions

There's no special evening like Christmas Eve, even though the day may be full of urgent errands like last minute wrapping or baking, I love the anticipation and excitement of the evening, no matter how old you are.

 Christmas Eve Box
You can read about my Christmas Eve Box for adults here, but obviously it could be easily adapted for kids too. It's a good alternative to opening one gift on Christmas Eve, and is there a better festive feeling than new Christmas pyjamas?

Putting Presents Under The Tree
We keep all our presents away until Christmas Eve (so no one can snoop!) and all put them under the tree on the 24th with Christmas songs on, all ready for the next morning.

Christmas Movie Marathon
The perfect way to relax before the big day, with a huge mug of hot chocolate in hand, and some of your favourite Christmas movies!

Fun Food
Whether it's frozen party food, or something homemade like a festive shaped pizza, having something fun and easy to eat on Christmas Eve lifts some of the pressure off the next day.

Christmas Lights
One of my favourite thing to do is to walk around my local neighbourhood as see everyone's Christmas decorations and lights.

Take A Family Photo
This is such a lovely idea, especially for either a new home or addition to the family and creating a album so you can look back on them throughout the years.

Have A Games Night
We love having games night, whether it's a simple board game or being competitive with video games, you can see my top picks for this year here.

Gingerbread House
Christmas Eve is the perfect time for baking and decorating, and there's nothing more festive than a Gingerbread house. There's so many sets ready made in all the supermarkets, so it's super easy for everyone to do.
